Always Been This Way

The Always Been This Way installation weaves together a complex story of the layers of self embedded within the home. Through a combination of printmaking, textiles, furniture design and performance, Booth invites the viewer to reflect on the intricacies of domestic interior. The installation is centered around the “Relief Chair”, a hand crafted wooden chair with an entirely carved surface area, creating a printing matrix. From the chair, Booth created prints, collages and activated the chair with a choreographed performance. This installation is the culminating work of Booth’s Masters of Fine Art in Printmaking received from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2024.
